By joining the Surfrider Foundation, you can help ensure a better future for our irreplaceable coastline.
Your membership will help Surfrider continue to be an effective representative for our beaches and coastal waters.
As a member, you'll receive our newsletters which provide vital information on important coastal issues.
You will also receive periodic bulletins about ongoing Surfrider Foundation projects and activities, and our bi-monthly publication, "Making Waves".
Plus, as a member you are entitled to discounts and special offers from our many supporters.
Above all, you will be making a positive difference in the future of the waves, waters and beaches that nourish our lives day by day, year by year.

There are many ways to signup:
You can distribute membership applications at your school, workplace, local coffee shop, surf shop or favorite hang out.
Or, refer friends, family members, co-workers and even strangers to the page you are looking at right now:
The Iron Surfer Membership Campaign is the Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter effort to grow our membership by
recognizing and rewarding those who refer new Surfrider members during the year.
Share Surfrider stoke with others, receive cool incentives, and be recognized by Surfrider Foundation San Diego as an Iron
Surfer or a higher level depending on the number of members referred during the calendar year:
5 Membership Referrals qualifies you as an Iron Surfer, 10 membership referrals qualify you as a Bronze Surfer and 20 referrals
qualify you as a Gold Surfer. The person with the most membership referrals in 2008 will be named the Surfrider San Diego
Silver Surfer.
Iron Surfer Membership Campaign award incentives will be announced soon. So start now sharing the Surfrider stoke as those
incentives are going to be SICK!!!
To get you going, we are starting the Iron Surfer Membership Campaign with this: Refer the most new members by August 1st
and receive a pair of Jack Johnson Concert Tickets for his late August show in Chula Vista!
In addition, all new members that join between April 20th and August 1st will be entered into a separate drawing for one
of four additional pairs of Jack Johnson Concert tickets. So when you refer new members, you earn credit towards Iron
Surfer awards, the Jack Johnson promotion, and also a chance for the new members to go to see Jack.

give to your friends, family and coworkers! If you encourage people to sign up on the web, make sure they know to specify

Memberships (except lifetime) are renewable annually.
The money raised by the San Diego Chapter will go towards programs in San Diego County communities (your communities) such as our water quality testing program the Blue Water Task Force, our education programs Respect the Beach and Kids for Clean Water, our coastal mapping project Beachscape, for beach cleanup supplies, printing and distribution of our newsletter and other local needs and issues.
Currently, Surfrider Foundation has a member base of approximately 40,000 in the U.S. Growing this membership base provides Surfrider Foundation with the opportunity to educate individuals and communities about their role in stewarding our coasts and protecting our world's oceans, waves and beaches. Growing our grassroots structure is critical to our mission, and our annual membership drive is a perfect opportunity to reach new members and educate people about the important work of Surfrider.
